Description

Vegan Daal Tadka  |  素食黄豆汤  |  Dhal Curry Vegan

Dal Tadka is a lentil dish that is frequently offered in Indian restaurants. Dal Tadka is cooked lentils that have been tempered with fried spices and herbs in oil or ghee. Tadka is a term that translates as tempering. It is a process in which whole or crushed spices are gently roasted in oil or ghee (clarified butter) to liberate their essential oils and enhance their flavour.

Trivia: Even while most prevalent dals (such masoor, tur, urad, moong, and chana dal) are used almost everywhere, each state has its own favourite. While all of these dals share an earthy creaminess, the aromatic tempering of spices used in each gives them distinct flavours that cannot be compared.
